Global Partners Junior

This is an international exchange program which connects teenagers ages 9-12 around the world. This program was created by New York City Global Partners, a non-profit organization, which connects city councils around the world.

 

Students communicate online with the help of an original educational program and discuss interesting topics for all cultures. While using this platform, protected by a password,  young people exchange messages about their societies and cities and prepare multimedia projects and videos.

Schools from over 30 cities take part in the project such as Berlin, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, Cuernavaca, Dublin, Glasgow, Hamburg, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Karachi, London, Melbourne Mexico, Moscow, Mumbai, New York, Paris, Prague, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto, Vancouver and Warsaw.

 

Students interact online and face-to-face, acquiring a valuable image of world metropolises, at the same time developing cultural sensitivity.

 

Online education enhances critical thinking abilities and educational values such as:

  • Global awareness: curiosity about the world and respect for cultural differences,

  • Local pride, sense of community and the ability to be an ambassador of your own city,

  • Familiarity with technology by effectively using basic computer applications, including text editors and presentation programs, search engines and social media platforms,

  • Group work, the ability to plan group assignments in order to achieve specific goals.
